Privacy

Last updated 28 August 2026.

You can use almost all of this site without giving us anything.

Past papers, mark schemes, examiner reports and the practice tool all work without an account. If you never make one, we hold no name, no email and nothing that identifies you.

What we store if you make an account

  • Your email address, and your first and last name if you give them.
  • Whether you signed up as a student or a teacher.
  • Which picture you chose. It is generated from a word, not uploaded.
  • Every question you answer: which question, what you chose, whether it was right, how long you took, and whether you marked it a guess.
  • Papers you have sat and the marks you got.
  • Questions you flag or save.

Your password is never stored. It is hashed by Supabase Auth, which means it cannot be read back, by us or by anyone else.

Why

To show you your own progress, and to tell you which chapters you are weakest at, which is the point of the site. Answer data is also counted in aggregate to see which questions students find hardest. That counting never names anybody.

Where it lives

In a Supabase database in Tokyo, and on Vercel, which serves the site. Past papers are on Cloudflare. Nothing is sold, and nothing is shared with anyone for advertising.

There is no Google Analytics here, no advertising trackers, and no third-party scripts of any kind. That is partly a privacy decision and partly a practical one: this site is built to work in mainland China, and that rules out most of them.

Cookies

If you sign in, we set a cookie holding your session so you stay signed in, and two small ones holding your display name and whether you are a student or a teacher, so the site can draw the top of the page correctly. That is all of them. There are no advertising or tracking cookies, so there is no cookie banner to dismiss.

If you sign in with Google

We ask Google only for your email address, your name and your profile picture. We never ask for, and cannot see, your Gmail, your contacts or your files. Google will tell you exactly what is being requested before you agree.

Getting rid of it

Email rob@econready.com and your account and everything attached to it will be deleted. Answer data may be kept in a form that is no longer linked to you, because the question statistics are built from it and cannot be unpicked person by person.

Children

This site is built for school students, so some of the people using it are under 18. We ask for as little as possible for that reason: an email address and a name, and nothing else. If you are a parent or a teacher and you want an account removed, email the address above and it will be done.

Changes

If this changes in a way that matters, the date at the top changes with it.

Questions about any of this go to rob@econready.com. See also the terms.
